Thanks Georgie! Hope all is well with you! Things here going well…a few birthing pains so to speak but everything will be golden…just the process sometimes…:)
Lots of fake Baba’s in Nepal and India…they cruise the street and if you take their photo demand money…some are real and some just dress up as Baba’s…quite the racket.
An official Monk?
Why does he need a Identity Badge?
Who ‘are’ being protected’
There have been cases of “fake monks” in Taiwan, begging for money. So it’s the public that’s being protected.
A photo worth a gazillion words dear Neesha.I like Damian’s questions as they were mine also. be well dear one, hugs,Debs
Thank you both.
Monks who seek offerings on the street need permits in Taiwan to avoid the “fake baba” syndrome that happens in some places.
Great photo!! ♥
Thanks for the additional information Tobie. How long has the monk permit system been in place?

Leads one to ponder…. how would you be “assessed” in order to qualify for a True Monk Permit? A meditation test seems almost defeatist….
Good point….could you add having a monkish vibe????
